Shapes to Forms combines fashion design with STEAM learning, offering courses for students ages 9–14+ in the San Diego area. Through hands-on, project-based learning, students transform 2D sketches into 3D garments and accessories while mastering garment construction, pattern making, and applying real-world math concepts.

POSH at La Plaza Fashion Show

Shapes to Forms students took the spotlight at the Posh at La Plaza Fashion Show, presented in partnership with Fashion Week San Diego and the La Jolla Merchants Association.

Each student not only designed and modeled their own look but also defined the sustainable choices behind their creations, highlighting the importance of fashion with a conscience.

To complete their ensembles, Downtown10 provided stunning jewelry that elevated every runway moment. The evening was a true celebration of sustainability, creativity, and the future of fashion innovators. Designer. Creator. Model. All in one—only at Shapes to Forms.

Haute STEAM X @ UCSD Extension Studies

Shapes to Forms has partnered with Fashion Week San Diego for their inspiring Haute STEAM X program in collaboration with UCSD Extended Studies! This amazing opportunity is designed to empower students under 18 to explore the world of fashion, from professional sewing, sustainable design, and fabric sourcing to understanding the real business behind the industry!

Students will engage in hands-on projects that combine creativity with STEAM skills, while learning directly from Fashion Week designers and tackling real-world challenges such as sustainability. It's an incredible first step for any young creative passionate about turning their fashion dreams into reality!

In The News

Students from La Jolla Elementary and Muirlands Middle Schools teamed up for a unique art and engineering project, "Making Monsters," led by Shapes to Forms. This collaboration combined creativity and technical skills as students designed and built whimsical monster sculptures. The project, organized by Shapes to Forms, encouraged teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving while blending artistic expression with STEAM education. It showcased the power of cross-disciplinary learning to inspire young minds.
